Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing
Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing experienced double digit growth since acquiring DMR Electronics in March 2007. Since the acquisition in 2007, Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing experienced phenomenal growth. So much so that the local operation was bulging at the seams at three different facilities — now they wanted one “home”.
ARI worked with Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing, along with the Chisholm Airport Authority and IRRRB, in the completion and expansion of the speculative building. The new facility provides adequate room for continued growth while ensuring Detroit Diesel’s long-term presence on the Iron Range.
In August 2013, the company held a ground-breaking ceremony at the spec building, which was nothing more than a 30,000 square foot shell of a building with a dirt floor. Just a bit more than a year later in October 2014, the $9.5 million project, opened its doors.
The move will also retain the company’s 100 existing jobs, and create the potential for 30 to 50 new jobs within the next three to five years.
